I Finally Signed Up For Microsoft Adcenter
You know what i’ve heard people say many times not to put all your eggs in one basket and well i agree with them it’s just that for a long time i never actually used that advice. Yes i’m stubborned i should know better. Anyways today i actually decided to broaden my marketing tools.
Why did i sign up with Microsoft Adcenter?
Simple i got a little anxious. I’m currently running a campaign on adwords and well i did a quick keyword research and uploaded the winning keywords to the campaign. My quality score for most of the (google did not like 2 of my keywords :-P) keywords is great and my average cost per click is a whopping $.05. That always puts a smile to my face. Now the next step was to estimate the number of clicks i might get running this campaign and well… to my surprise i will not be getting that much traffic from Google unless i add more keywords. The thing is i don’t really want to add more keywords because of my current strategy.
Why don’t i want to add more keywords?
Simple, i’m using action type keywords,by that i mean keywords that will most likely bring a sale. I’m assuming that people typing in those types of keywords would most likely be buyers. Action keywords are keywords like: cure XXXX, how to XXXX, buy XXXX and so on.
My dilemma:
Adding more keywords to my campaign will definitely increase my chances of making more sales but the process will chatter my experiment. I’m not sure if increasing the cost per click will benefit me. Well it actually it would because it’s said that top positions get more traffic than lower positions… After a little more thought i decided hey why not move to another advertising network? That’s when i went to adcenter and created an account. I basically copied the exact same campaign and well i quickly learned that adcenter does not have an option for phrase matches and exact matches for my keywords… No biggy i want more traffic so i’ll just have to bare with it. My cost per click is the same as with adwords and i now await the results.
There’s a research tab in the adcenter panel that i find to be pretty neat. I found out the age, sex, location, and spending power of my future customers. Wicked.
