Why Use Landing Pages
Many of you may know this but for those of you who don’t landing pages are very important when it comes to affiliate marketing. Sure you can always use a direct link to the merchant’s account with your affiliate link embedded but i can guarantee you that some else promoting the same product as you may be making a killing with his/her own landing page.
Here’s why:
- With a landing page, you control the content.
- You can stuff the page with greatly targeted keywords
- Soften up the deal a little to the buyer. Mention features and stress out the benefits of the product.
- You control how you want the buyer to see the product. If you can impulse them to buy than you are a successful with your promotion attempts.
You are in control. You can take several approaches in this case. Take in mind that most people don’t like to be told what to buy. They rather have someone recommend the product. You want to act as a friend and provide them with the necessary information. enough to impulse a purchase.
You can make a comparison with another product. Graze other the similarities but emphasize the differences. The most important thing however is to offer them something free. For example if you’re selling a nintendo wii, offer them a free guide to having a better experience with the system or something along those lines. Make sure that you collect there information before you provide them with the bonus :-). From there you’ll get a good list of potential future customers.
